Nancy Swank Obituary

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Nancy's memory to kindly consider First Baptist Church of Trumansburg, Attn: Hospitality Fund, PO Box 686, Trumansburg, NY 14886.
Nancy was born on March 22, 1939 in Long Island, a daughter of the late Iveta and Otto Oktavec. She graduated from Ithaca High School and attended Nursing School at St. Margaret's Hospital in Albany. Nancy went to work at Wilson Hospital in Endicott but gave up her nursing career to raise a family with her husband, Lawrence. She enjoyed her family and her pastime of reading. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trumansburg.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lawrence "John" Swank; children Michael Swank, Barbara Swank, and Heather Nickles; stepsons Larry (Claudia) Collins and Sebastian Swank; 13 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Octavia Lee.

We are so sorry to read of Nancy's death. She no longer suffers...but you and all she left behind suffer the loss..so that is where friends try to help. We wish we were there but miles keep us from being able to be with you.

I love you Grandma! I could never put into words how much I appreciate what you have done for me! I will never forget what an important role you played in my life as grandmother, and a lot of times like a second mother! You will always be in my heart! You will forever be missed!
