I remember Nick fondly, his friendliness and enthusiasm, and a story he told about guests who stay too late. That's when you put on the chamber music. Sound advice!

I have many memories of band camp at Bristol, lessons in Romulus and having the opportunity to play at Hobart and William Smith because of Nick. I was just a high school kid. What an opportunity for me. Thank you Nick.

Nick was always about music and people. He welcomed me as a young artist colleague and we became warm friends during my teaching years at Hobart and William Smith. He was a unique and creative spirit. Although we didn't have much contact in recent years, I'll always remember him.

I had the pleasure of serving with Nick during his Air Force service in the early 1950's. There was no question that he was destined for greatness. My sincere condolences to his famuily.

i was a student of Nick's very first version of the jazz lab band in the late '70s. Whereas there was little he could do to boost my talent he made the most of my skills while teaching me about how to purse all that I do with passion, hard work and dedication. My condolences to the family and the HWS community. Jim Herman, HWS '79

My condolences to the extended D'Angelo family on the occasion of Nick's passing. I studied composition with him at HWS 40 years ago and was always impressed by the breadth of his musical ability.

Farewell......
The Sand of time are running low.And soon my children I must go.My heart with love for you is filled. But soon it's beating must be stilled.I leave no treasures of any kind.Only love I leave behind.Take it and share it between sister and brother. And always be kind to one another. Some of you perhaps may weep,When my eyes are closed in eternal sleep. But try to remember it won't be forever. For God can bring our spirits together.I pray that I go to a world far above. To be with the others that I love. And to wait awhile on that Heavenly Plain.UNTIL THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN.

April 21, 2010

My deepest sympathy to all of you... family and friends.

I have very fond memories of times spent in the musical presence of Nick... going way back to music camp at Bristol Hills, as well as numerous occasions at Hobart & William Smith. Nick was a wonderful talent, and a delightful person to be around.

Salute, Nick! Til we meet again...
