Patricia Dolgos Obituary

GENEVA - Patricia Ann (Serrett) Dolgos of Farmville VA, affectionately known as "Patty Ann", 83, of Geneva, N.Y., passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born May 21, 1942, in Geneva N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary "Bumby"; Serrett. Patricia married the love of her life, Kalman Dolgos, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion and love. Together they raised three children: Kristen Dolgos, Michelle (Brent) Emanuelson, and Steven (Evette) Dolgos. She took great joy in her grandchildren, Ryan (Kat) Taney, the late Eric Taney, Steven Dolgos, and Devon Collier, and was especially proud to be "Mima"; to her great-grandchildren Dylan Taney, Madison Taney, and Garrison Taney. Patty Ann also had a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved deeply, and reciprocated that love to her.

Before retirement, Patricia enjoyed a varied and meaningful career. She first worked as a secretary for Kodak in Rochester and later served as the Religious Education Coordinator for St. Stephens Church in Geneva, where she guided generations of children in faith. She also found joy in her entrepreneurial spirit, owning Pat's Attic and running antique booths throughout her life. Browsing yard sales and flea markets was more than a pastime; it was an adventure. It became a beloved tradition she passed on to her grandchildren, who learned from her that hidden treasures are often found in unexpected places. Her sharp eye for antiques was matched only by her sweet tooth, which she never tried too hard to hide. Her cooking, too, was legendary, whether it was a chicken paprikash on a cold night, or her famous broccoli casserole during the holidays, everyone left her kitchen full and content.

Beneath her quiet dignity, Patricia had a mischievous streak. It often surfaced in her humor and in what her family fondly called "her secret phrase"; Those close to her knew it was never mean-spirited, usually delivered after jokingly being called a "lizard" by her loved ones. Candy was her weakness, though it was her company that was truly the sweetest treat. Her two grandsons, Ryan and Eric, once dreamed with her of going to a fictional doo-wop concert for a band called "Johnny and the Lawn Chairs", Even in sorrow, her family smiles at that thought. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith, humor, and family devotion lives on in those who loved her.

A memorial service will be held at Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home in Geneva, N.Y., on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Pat was a classmate at DeSales. Even back then, she had a guirky spirit. Lots of fun and a very friendly person. So sorry for the great loss to your family.
