Paul H. Shaffer

SENECA FALLS - Paul H. Shaffer, 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025.

Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, October 5 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

Born on May 28, 1962, in Akron, Paul was the son of the late Herman H. and Diana E. (Thurston) Shaffer.

Paul was a man of many talents and wore many hats throughout his life-mechanic, machine operator, husband, father-but one of his proudest achievements was founding his own business. In 2001, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening American Way Taxi, a company that served the county faithfully for two decades. Through his work, Paul met countless people and formed lasting friendships. He was a storyteller at heart, always ready to share tales from the road. Yet above all, Paul cherished his role as "Papa." His greatest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to his days.

Paul is survived by his daughters Ciara (John) Mastellar, Cynthia (David) Saunders, and Michelle Shaffer; his sons Scott (Amber) Chilson and Michael (Elizabeth) Shaffer; and his beloved grandchildren Eathyn, Hailey, Amelya, Oliver, Cianna, Raelynn, and Gage. He also leaves behind his sisters Alica Long, Deanna Miller, and Becky Shaffer; brothers Denny and Brian Shaffer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Chilson Fasciana.
