Robert Andrews Obituary

SENECA FALLS/GENEVA - Robert P. Andrews, Sr. 81. passed away peacefully Saturday (May 4th, 2024) surrounded by family.

Friends may call on Monday, (May 13) from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Palmisano – Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, (May 14) in Oaklawn Cemetery, Oaks Corners.

Bob will be remembered for all his adventurous, fun-filled vacations with his family and his entrepreneurial spirit. Bob was a cherished member of our community. He was the proud recipient of the Paul Harris Award from the Geneva Rotary Club. He and his late wife Madelene spent days and nights running the family business, Hotel Exchange in downtown Geneva. He spent countless hours in the kitchen cooking for customers. Bob along with family donated thanksgiving dinner for 100's of people for many years. He hosted parties, and family dinners where everyone was welcome for over 50 years.

In Bob's early years, he was a Geneva volunteer fireman with Nester Hose Co where he was a lifelong member. He was a jack of all trades. He especially enjoyed painting, carpentry, gardening, canning, fishing, playing cards, watching football and his scratch-off tickets. He loved a good hot pepper. He never did find one that was too hot for him!

He is survived by his sons, Robert P Andrews Jr (Mary), of Seneca Falls, Charles F Enos Jr (Elizabeth), of Geneva Paul Clise (Mary), of Waterloo; his many grandchildren, Jennifer and Kate Andrews, Nikole and Eugene Ventura, Kyle and Brianne Boncaro, Kasey and Leighton Gately, Jacqueline and Michael Pellicano Ben and Breanne Clise, John, Nicholas, Joseph; his brothers, Theodore Smith of Geneva, Dale Smith of Rochester; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His memory will forever live on in their hearts.

Bob was born on June 11, 1942, and was the son of the late Richard Paul and Pauline (Smith) Andrews. Bob was predeceased by his wife Madelene Mary Andrews; siblings, Linda Lee Andrews, Gerald Andrews, Nancy Clough, and Darlene Smith.

"Poppy" will always be remembered as a loving and generous man. No matter who you were, whether blood, married in, or a stranger- you were ALWAYS welcome in his presence. He loved to cook for and serve his family and friends, and there was never a shortage of food! The dinners, at the Hotel Exchange or the house, were filled with love and laughter, family and friends. You will be missed, but fondly remembered...... I hope there are plenty of meatballs in heaven! Love- Debbie and Paul :)
