Thomas Clingerman Obituary

Cayuga/Seneca Falls - Thomas A. Clingerman, 42, of River Road, Cayuga, N.Y., died Friday (June 10, 2011).
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home Inc., 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Thursday (June 16) from 5 - 7 PM followed by a funeral service at 7 PM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Prior to the calling hours and funeral service, friends and family may gather at 2 p.m. at the home of Tom's brother, Donnie O'Connor, on Anthony Drive, Seneca Falls.
If desired, contributions may be made to the Friends of the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, 3395 Routes 5 and 20, Seneca Falls, N.Y. 13148.
Tom was born in Waterloo on March 19, 1969, the son of Donald and Helen "Peggy" O'Connor Clingerman. He had been residing in Cayuga, N.Y., since 1993, previously living in Texas and Seneca Falls. Tom loved the outdoors, from fishing and hunting to gardening. He was a great provider to his family in that respect. This was not the only enjoyment he found in the outdoors, he worked very hard to find trophy wildlife and fish. In 1992 he made the Boone and Crockett Record Book with his trophy buck that scored 145 5/8. He also made the local paper when he and his brother, Robert "Coon," placed 4th in a Troy Production 50 Boat Team Bass Tournament hosted on Cayuga Lake. Tom and Bob used a row boat instead of a high powered bass boat and used their cooler as their live well in keeping their fish alive. This showed them that it was what you knew, not what you owned. This is the Tom that will be remembered by his friends, family, and all that really knew him during his time with us.
He is survived by one daughter, Keri Clingerman, Waterloo; two sons, Kevin T. and Alex Clingerman, both of Waterloo; his parents, Donald and Helen "Peggy" O'Connor Clingerman, Seneca Falls; one sister, Anne (George) Havelin, Seneca Falls; five brothers, Michael (Beth) O'Connor, Seneca Falls, Donald (Laura) O'Connor, Seneca Falls, William "Peck" (Mary) O'Connor, Auburn, Richard "Cricket" (Vanessa) Clingerman, Seneca Falls, Ronald Clingerman, Seneca Falls; the mother of his children, Gina Scesny Clingerman, Phelps; several nieces and nephews.
Tom was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert "Coon" O'Connor who died October 28, 2006.
