William Lamb Obituary

GENEVA - Bill Lamb, 64, passed away unexpectedly at home of heart failure on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lauren Ray Lamb; and his children Robert Lamb and Alison Lamb; his sister Elizabeth Lamb; sister-in-law Michele Fevrier Lamb; and nephew Christopher Lamb. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Consay Lamb and Barbara Imhofe Lamb; and his older brother David Stephen Lamb.

A celebration of his life will be held on November 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Geneva.

Contributions in his memory can be made to Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes, the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, or the public radio station in your community.

Bill Lamb was loved. He was born on January 16 1961, in Geneva N.Y., with two older siblings and a host of pals on Cornwall Road that romped about together. He was involved with scouting in Troop 4, the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, athletics, and getting into mischief. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1979. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in political science with honors from Elmira College in 1985. This interest followed him throughout his life as a self-described "news junkie." He was an avid photographer, a collector, and an outdoorsman.

Bill met his wife Lauren in Seattle while working in the hotel business and they married in 1989. Their love was full of loud laughter and gentle teasing and based in deep mutual respect and care. They moved back to Geneva to be close to Bill's folks after his father got sick. He then earned his Master's in social work from Roberts Wesleyan in 2004. This led to a 21-year career at Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes doing the thing he most loved, helping people. He was kind and compassionate, dedicated and deliberate in his efforts to lessen the burdens of others. He loved his family, LOVED his family, and was never shy about expressing that. On any given evening, he could be found dancing in the kitchen with them to music on the stereo while helping get dinner ready.

His presence will be a monumental loss to anyone who knew him.

Yesterday

Dear Lauren and family, I´m sending my deepest condolences to you and your beautiful family. I´m truly so very sorry to hear of Bill´s passing. I was truly blessed to work as a Volunteer CASA and learned so much from working with Bill under his program. During my regular work, I often collaborated with him and learned so much. His dedication and compassion for others in the work he did was truly extraordinary. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
