Rodney Shrum Obituary
6/12/1959-1/28/2010
Born on June 12, 1959 and passed away at the age of 50 due to a heart attack at Roseville Sutter Hospital on January 28, 2010. Rodney was a current resident of Roseville, CA.
Rod loved the Lord and joined his Mom, Carol Ann Shrum, up in heaven; as well as many other loved ones that went on before him. Rod was an excellent carpenter and he enjoyed life to its fullest. Rod will be missed by many, but especially by those that knew him the best.
Rod was survived by his Father, Wilburn Louis Shrum and Will's fiancé, Dotty Louise Adams of Olivehurst; his sister and brother-in-law, Cindy Gayle and Mike Murphy of Sheridan and their children Michael John, Jennifer and Mark; his previous wife of many years Mary Jo Shrum of Roseville and their three children; oldest daughter, Joni Louise Carpenter and her fiancé Wyatt Hulsey and daughters, Rylie Ann Morgan and Hunter Skye Hulsey of Wheatland; their youngest daughter, Kyle Elizabeth Carpenter and her fiancé Isaac Bird & son Boston Ryder Carpenter of Lincoln; their son, Richard Dwight Parker and his daughter Paige Joe-Lyn Parker and his son Bradyn David Murphy of Port Angeles, Washington; and Rod was also survived by his girlfriend Annette Renee Lankford and her sons Joshua & Justin Wagnon of Roseville; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Rod's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 11 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Sheridan at 4101 Riosa Road in Sheridan, CA.

I met Rod about 21 years ago and he showed me how to give my life to Jesus. Rod taught me that I could be myself and the Lord would still love me for who I am. I feel lucky to have known such a person and he will be missed by me and my husband.
My heart goes out to the Shrum family…I hope and pray that they allow Jesus to carry them through their time of grief and sorrow...Remember he is with the lord now happy and safe…Love You Di

I would like to say to Rod's family how very sorry i feel for their loss. Rod was very kind to me during a very low point in my life. for that i will always be greatful..I knew rod to be excellent with his and other peoples dogs. I gave him a pup from one of my dog's litters and he brought her back to show me her 2 yrs later. she was a most excellent example of what a happy, well cared for, and very loved dog, would be..I will miss Rod.Blessed i am for having known him....
