Charles Walter Wallin

1945 - 2025

Loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, age 80, of Forest Lake, Charlie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 5, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hattie Wallin, and sister, Kristin E. (Wallin) Hurley.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn; children, Karrie (Scott) Middendorf, Katie (Bob) Fitzgerald, Jon Wallin; and grandchildren, Tyler Mollner, Gavin, and Riley Middendorf, and Mason and Ellie Fitzgerald; siblings, Karen (Steve) Hoffert, Ernie (Rita) Wallin, Kathy Shannon, and David Wallin.

Born on October 6, 1945, in Rush City, Minnesota, Charlie attended St. Cloud State University for two years and proudly served in the National Guard for six years. In 1969, he met Marilyn on a blind date arranged by his cousin, and the two were married shortly after on September 6, 1970.

Charlie worked as a land surveyor for 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling with friends and family, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and-most of all-spending time with his family. He especially loved watching his grandchildren grow up and could always be found in the stands at their games and activities. Charlie's greatest joy was seeing Marilyn happy, and his pride in his family was evident to all who knew him.

Our family would like to thank Hospice of the Midwest and Cornerstone Caregiving for taking such good care of Charlie. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.

Charlie's life will be celebrated with a ceremony at 3 PM Wednesday, November 19th with visitation beginning at 2 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
