Cleo Bruce Obituary

Cleo Swafford Bruce, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Northside Hospital Forsyth, following a short illness.
Born Oct. 9, 1920, to the late Carl and Mae Swafford, she lived most of her life in the Dawson County area. A homemaker at her death, most of her career was spent as a cook and she formerly owned and operated the City Grill in Dawsonville.
Cleo was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Bradford; and sons-in-law, Bradley Cain and Curtis Bradford.
She is survived by her children, Gary and Shirley Bruce of Hoschton, Carol Cain of Dawsonville, Doug and Faye Bruce of Dawsonville, Brad and Jane Bruce of Cumming, Tony and Joan Bruce of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois and Loy Chumley of Marble Hill, Eunice "Boody" Chumley of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenson and Arlene Swafford of Dawsonville, Max and Gail Swafford of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 6, at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary English officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
