Paul H. Schneider

Paul H. Schneider, age 74, of Cumming passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, after a brief illness. Paul was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Bellwood, Ill., to the late Harry and Edna Schneider. He was a graduate of Downers Grove High School and Southern Illinois University class of 1963. During college he became a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. After college Paul decided to serve his country in the United States Air Force in 1963. While serving he achieved the rank of Captain as a Transportation Officer. Paul later entered the private sector as Traffic Manager for Chemtrust Industries in Addison, Ill. He also worked as a consultant for Drake, Sheahan, Stewart and Dougal Consulting Firm in New York City, and then retired from Siemens Corp in 2001. Paul served as president of the Newbury homeowners association in Cumming.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Nancy Schneider.
Paul was a loving son, brother, husband and grandfather. He loved his family and his God. He was proud of his children and his grandchildren. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, and travel, especially in the RV. With his wife, he visited all 50 states, nine Canadian provinces and many European countries.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jill Schneider; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn (Mike) Ziegelski; son and daughter-in-law, Jim (Leslie) Schneider; grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Schneider, and Catherine, Laura, Marie, and John Ziegelski; brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Lee) Schneider; cousins; nieces and nephews; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Memorial services for Mr. Schneider will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. in Living Faith Lutheran Church in Cumming, with Pastor Timothy Droegemueller officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 11, from 4-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northside Hospital-Forsyth Auxiliary, Forsyth County Cancer Society or any other charity of your choice.
