I want to express my deepest sympathy to you, Sandra, Tom, Brian, and Greg. I couldn't believe it when I got the news. This saddens me, but we all know where Steven is right now and we will have a grand reunion very very soon and spend all eternity with him and many others! I'm thinking of you all and praying for you always!

I met Steve back in 2002 in Ft. Lauderdale. I remember giving him my number and thinking to myself that I would never hear from him and then one day the phone rang and there he was. I was so surprised and elated at the same time and we developed such a good friendship. He helped me out during a very difficult time in my life and we had just met. He was there for me and so kind. Such an amazing person inside and out that you just couldn't help yourself but to fall in love with the man. And as time would have it we grew apart but the friendship was always there. When George asked me to call him and he told me the news that Steve had passed away I just almost didn't believe it. I'll never get to talk to him again but I can still hear that voice. Until we meet again, Steve. I do love you!!!

Steven was a dear friend. We lived together as roommates for a short time. He had a huge heart not a mean bone in his body. He loved to travel seeing new things. I loved him life a brother. Rest in piece my friend.

We loved Steven from the first time we met him back in Dublin, GA in 1975. He was always kind, polite and thoughtful. His smile would light up a room. We are saddened by his passing but know that he is now enjoying his new home in heaven. We love you, Steven, and look forward to the day we enjoy a sweet reunion with you.

Im still stunned by this news. We met just 5 short years ago, but because of the person he was, I feel like weve known each other since childhood. I dont think Ill ever meet another person like Steven. He was so giving and caring to everyone while putting himself last. His zest for learning and sense of humor only made him more interesting to be in his presence. It was his humility that made you remember him. He was always a man of few words but that was okay because you knew what you meant to Steven by his actions. There was no-one on this Earth more important to him than his Mother and Aunt Claudette. I remember the stories he used to share about his childhood days with these 2 and his grandfather and his eyes lit up - that told me the kind of person he was. We instantly started a friendship that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Being around Steven made me want to be a better person to learn more, accomplish more, to be kinder, more charitable and to be in the moment. My heart is heavy right now but I know Ill find peace because you can rest now my friend, you no longer have to worry about everyone else. You just pick your favorite cloud and watch over all of us. Until we meet again!
