Jacquline Shields Obituary

Jacquline Jane Shields (Jackie), 81, of Ft. Morgan, CO, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018. Jackie was born in Brush, CO, on July 1, 1937. She graduated from Brush High School and continued on at a woman's college in Denver where she met William Robert Shields (Bill Shields). Jackie was married to Bill on February 14, 1956; they were married 56 years until Bill passed in 2012. Jackie was a housewife who raised three children. Being a military spouse enabled her to fulfill some of her love of traveling, spending a total of seven years in Japan with her family. She enjoyed gardening and playing the organ for many years for the church. Jackie is survived by her brother, Gary and wife Peggy Hoffmann of Arvada, CO, daughter Teresa and husband Eric Haensly of Beaumont, CA, daughter Debra Metzler of Flagler, CO, son Bill and wife Cathie Shields of Ft. Morgan, CO, grandchildren (Joel Metzler, Mechille Zook, Stacy Zook, Stephanie and husband Jeremy Bevins, Jonathan and wife Davina Metzler, Makayla Shields and Miley Monaco), great-grand children (Matthew and wife Shannon Zook, Cadence Bevins, Destiny Hastings, Dakota Metzler, Eden Bevins, Israella Bevins, Valor Bevins) and other family and friends. Jackie is preceded in death by both parents (John and Alvina Hoffmann), husband William Shields, and son-in-law Richard Metzler. Memorial services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ft. Morgan (800 Sherman Street) on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.
