Jeronimo L. "Romo" Vasquez, 74, of Greeley, passed away on September 30, 2018 in Loveland, Colorado. He was born to Ezequiel and Patricia (Lara) Vasquez on September 30, 1944 in San Francisco Del Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico. Jeronimobegan coming to the United States of American with his mother when he was 8 years old, as a migrant worker, going back and forth from Mexico and the United States (El Otro Lado/El Norte). He finally migrated to the USA in 1964 for a better life and greater opportunities for himself and his family. His top priority was to make sure that his children had every opportunity to be successful, focusing on the education of his children. In February 1977, he brought his entire family to the USA and settled in Wiggins, Colorado with his wife, Maria Trinidad Vasquez where they raised their 8 children. He was a long-time resident of Morgan and Weld counties. Jeronimo worked as a farm-hand in Morgan County and worked seasonally at the Fort Morgan Great WesternSugar Factory for more than 20 years, and he truly loved his work. He was a hard worker, responsible, self-motivated and had a good work ethic. For 8 years he drove all over the USA in his truck after earning his CDL license in 2006, which he really enjoyed. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, gardening, baseball, and his sociable personality. He enjoyed working around "Chuy's Farm", listening to music, especially Rock-n-Roll, Rancheras and Polkas. Above all, his kids, grandkids and his great-grandkids were his pride and joy. Jeronimo is survived by his wife, Maria Trinidad Vasquez; children, Graciano Vasquez (Lupe Jimenez), Maria (Martin) Ramirez, Elvira (Jesus) Gonzalez, Rito Vasquez (Harris Neil), Lorenzo (Sandra) Vasquez, Irma Vasquez (Hugo Garcia), Julian Vasquez (Sofia Villegas), and Pedro Vasquez (Yolanda Sturgeon); 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alejandrina Vasquez (Guadalupe Gallarza) and Carlos Lara Vasquez (Maria); 30 nephews and nieces; 14 cousins and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruno; brother, Eusebio and grandson, Angel. Public visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, October 5, 2018 followed by a Rosary, both at Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Avenue in Greeley. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd Street in Greeley. Interment will follow the Mass at Linn Grove Cemetery.
