Alan Glock Obituary

DR. ALAN R. GLOCK, 70, of Richmond, Ind., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Born March 5, 1938, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Wayne and Blanch (Lahnergan) Glock. He graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne, with the Class of 1956. He also graduated from Earlham College and later Indiana University Medical School earning his Medical Doctorate in Orthopedic Surgery. He served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army as an Orthopedic Surgeon. He practiced orthopedic surgery in Richmond. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Richmond, Lord of the Seas Lutheran Church, Big Pine, Key, and Masonic Lodge. He was passionate about learning. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Surviving are six children, Michael Glock of Falls Church, Va., David (Sharon) Glock of Terre Haute, Dr. Christopher R. (Tanya) Glock of Brazil, Ind., Jonathon Glock of Arlington, Va., Janet Glock of Falls Church, Va., and Daniel (Darah) Glock of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brian, Kailah, C.J., Emily, and Stella; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Joshua; two brothers, Dr. Steve Glock and Jim Glock; a sister, Judy Schele; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Glock. At his request, cremation services will be provided. Arrangements by French Funeral Home, Brazil, Ind.
