ANDREW MATUSKA

ANDREW MATUSKA, 91, of Cathedral City, Calif., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. Born Nov. 27, 1923, in Ohio, Andrew was one of ten siblings and a son of Michael and Susan Matuska. In his years in Fort Wayne, he loved playing country music on his guitar with Andy Martin and The Country Cadillacs. He retired in 1984 from Rea Magnet Wire, in Indiana. In his retirement, he was known as the "Bingo Caller" at the Joslyn Center, Palm Desert, Calif. A devout catholic, he regularly attended church at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in La Quinta, Calif. Surviving are sons, Robert Matuska of Indio, Calif, Mark (Nita) Matuska of Fort Wayne, Stan (Theresa) Matuska of Queen Creek, Ariz, and Kevin (Lesley) Matuska of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Anne Matuska; wife, Ellen; son, Andrew William "Bill" Matuska; and daughter, Cynthia Ann Wasserman. Funeral service is 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, in the Coachella Chapel at Forest Lawn Chapel, Coachella. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in the Coachella Chapel, at Forest Lawn, Coachella, Calif. Graveside service to follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery, in Coachella. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Indio.
