Ann McKenna Obituary

Ann McKenna, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on December 1, 2025, and was born September 14th, 1933, to Audley Claire Mays and Ruth Dinsmore.

Ann was a very creative person. She taught art to high school students, worked with children at the Shawnee Branch of the Allen County Public Library from 1981-1998, and made many beautiful, hooked rugs. Reading, gardening, and cooking were her passions.

She was preceded in death by her husband John V. McKenna, and her son Sean M. McKenna. Ann is survived by her daughter Kathleen Black (Byron), her grandchildren, Susie McKenna, John M. McKenna, Michael McKenna, and Mason McKenna, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her sister Cynthia Nicosia and brother Michael Mays. The funeral service will be held at Abundant Life Church, 3301 E. Coliseum Blvd. in Fort Wayne on Monday December 8th at 1:30pm. In addition, a service will be held in the spring of 2026 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 5310 Old Mill Rd, Fort Wayne. Please call the office for more details.
