BARRY ELLIS Obituary

BARRY KENT ELLIS, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Born Sept. 18, 1943, in Paulding, Ohio. Barry grew up in Decatur, Ind., where he fell in love with his wife, RuthAnn Soliday. He was a member of Sonrise United Methodist Church. Barry was passionate about the Eagle Marsh Preserve and owned his own financial planning and accounting company. He loved to fish and was an avid stamp collector. Barry is survived by his wife of 50 years, RuthAnn; mother, Hazel Ellis; sister, Connie Bailey; children, Jodi Erler and Stuart (Sherry) Ellis; five grandkids, Brooke (Daniel) Braun, Krista Erler, Kaitlyn Erler, Bronson Ellis, and Rylin Ellis; and four great-grandsons, Kayden, Brenden, Bentley, and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Ellis; brother, Ronald Ellis; and sister, Susan Ousley. A Celebration of Life Ceremony is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Sonrise Roanoke United Methodist Church Campus, 12220 Lower Huntington Road, Roanoke, Ind., with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eagle Marsh Preserve. Dear Ruth Ann, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Barry and I were Stamp Collecting Buddies. We met through AFDCS, he was a valued member, always willing to lend a hand. I really missed seeing him at this years convention. At least now he is with the Lord and breathing easy. Hewas a good friend and I will miss him.
One of the other remembrances noted Kekionga Shores - My kids grandparents,
Bert & Bertha Long lived there.

Grandpa I miss you more and more everyday .. As I go over to your house to visit grandma I pass where we used to go fishing and when you used to take me to the park ..
