BORIS GOSHEFF Obituary

BORIS N. GOSHEFF, 76, departed his earthly journey on Thursday, July 20, 2023, to await the glorious second coming of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Boris was born on Nov. 30, 1946, to Naum and Stephana Gosheff in Elwood City, Pa., moving to Fort Wayne, Ind. shortly thereafter. After graduating from South Side High School, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Saint Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education from St. Francis University. Boris embraced his faith, family, and Macedonian culture. Boris owned and operated Tower Tavern with his family. He was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral and rarely missed a Sunday service. He was also a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and rarely missed a Sunday loss. Most of all, Boris loved his family. Boris is survived by his wife, Vesna; children, Damian (Jenny) and Christopher (Rebecca); grandchildren, Josephine, Katherine, Theodore, Finn, and Audrey; and brother, George (Donna). Boris was preceded in death by his parents, Naum and Stephana, and his brother, Stephan. Memorial services will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, 3535 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, Ind. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the cathedral, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, with a Trisagion Hymn at 7 p.m. Burial will follow service at Highland Park Cemetery and a luncheon will follow the burial. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home.

Dear Vesna, Damian & Christopher.

So very sorry to hear of the falling asleep of my very good friend. We were classmates at St Vlad's and remained good friends over these many years.
I heard of the Funeral only one day before and so it was impossible for me to make arrangements to be there. I'm praying for Boris at my Altar for 40 days and will miss him terribly. One of the finest men I've ever known.

I'll be sending a Memorial Donation to St Nick's as requested.

Peace and blessings to you all.

I just now heard of Boris´ falling asleep in the Lord. Like so many others, I was also his colleague and friend at St Vladimir´s Orthodox Seminary. May the Lord of Life open the gates of Paradise to His faithful servant, our dear brother!

I always enjoyed Butch and Vesna`s visits to Madison. The last time I saw him at Chris and Rebecca`s home, we had lots of laughs as Finn and Audrey talked him into playing the card game "Garbage"! I will always remember him with his big friendly smile. Thoughts and prayers to his family during this sad and difficult time.

Boris was our fellow student at St. Vladimir's Seminary decades ago. In recent years we enjoyed his and Vesna's company at alumni gatherings. He was always the same generous, thoughtful and loving person. Memory Eternal!

Boris was our fellow student at St. Vladimir's Seminary decades ago. Recently we shared alumni reunion with him and Vesna. As always, he was generous, loving, and glad to be of help in any way he could. We will miss you very much, Boris.

Boris was a wonderful person, very smart and educated, friendly, loving and very family oriented person. He was very loving member of the family.
His sudden dead was very shocking for all of us. Aldhow we couldn't visit each other, Vesna and I were very often in telephone contact and he was always in our conversation. I will miss Boris dearly. Condolences to Vesna, Damjan, Chris and their families.

I didn´t know Boris well, but I work at the Contoure Salon. I would chat with him outside in the parking lot or visiting other tenants. I enjoyed our talks and his laugh and smile. We would sit with Gisela @ lampshade plus. I would run out if the salon anytime I saw his car just to say hello. He is going to be missed. RIP dear friend. What a beautiful prayer tonight!

I was fortunate to have met Butch many years ago through the YMPO basketball/bowling tournaments and the MPO conventions. Butch always had a smile on his face. May he rest in peace and prayers for Vesna and the family. Memory Eternal.

Dear Vesna, We just received the news Butch died. Riad and I loved Bo, and this news is shattering. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies to you, your sons and their wives and your grandchildren.
Boris and I went to seminary together some 50 years ago. He was a wonderful friend, so kind, so honest, so sincere. Thinking of him right now brings a smile even in the midst of this sadness.
God blessed him in this life and he was a grateful man. Boris has gone ahead now to a place of sweet repose, where all sickness, sorrow, suffering and sighing have fled away. May his memory be eternal, and may Paradise consume him. I wish we were there, Vesna, to give you a long hug and to stand by during these next days. - Scotty

I've known Butch for over 25 years. We were co-workers, then friends, and over time thought of him as family. When you are fortunate enough to have someone like Boris in your life, you realize you have truly been blessed. He was one of my best friends and will be sorely missed. May his memory be eternal and his family find strength and comfort through the coming days.
