Carl Kolb Obituary

Carl Henry Kolb, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a short hospitalization. Carl was born on June 27, 1955, to Richard and Martha Kolb in Detroit, MI. He loved sports, summers at Burt Lake and Lake George. He graduated from Carroll High School and married Kathy, who he met at his first job at Bill Knapps. They were ecstatic to welcome their son, Christopher. As they started their busy family life of soccer and using Marriott reward miles (gotta use them!) for tropical vacations, Carl finished his bachelor's degree in business at IPFW. Carl built his 47-year career in commercial sales in HVAC at Wayne Pump, Masters Heating and Cooling, Thermo Tech Sales and R.E. Michel Company. Carl strongly valued his relationships with family, friends, and clients. He was well loved by all who met him, for his keen sense of humor and truly kind heart. He organized weekend golf outings, football pools, and endless cookouts (for which he was well known and quite accomplished). He was a member of the Elks and bowled in their league for many years. Carl was loving and generous to friends and family, and was always willing to lend a hand. He was consistently present for his in-laws, father, and grandmother as they aged. Carl was married to Debbie Todoran and they spent 20 wonderful years together. Debbie was devoted and by his side through health challenges the past few years. They loved to travel to warm climates and visit family.

Carl is survived by his wife Debbie; son Christopher (Heather); siblings Jackie and John (Amy); nephews Bryan (Lori) and Lucas and niece Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Scott. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne or Best Friends Animal Society.
