CHRISTOPHER VEBERT Obituary
CHRISTOPHER EDWARD VEBERT, 46, of Roanoke, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, 11:45 p.m., at Lutheran Hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1967, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Anna (Michael Sr. Hardiek) Verbert of Roanoke. He was a 1987 graduate of Wayne High School and an IT Infrastructure Manager at WaterFur nace Interna tional of Fort Wayne for seven years. He was a member of Y.M.C.A. V MUG meetings. His hobbies included running, music, movies, and cooking, and he loved going on family vacations to Florida and his dog, Greta. "He was a wonderful husband, father and son. His three children loved him dearly." Also surviving are his wife, Diana L. Vebert of Roanoke; sons, Corey Austin Vebert and Mason Craig Vebert, both Roanoke; daughter, Megan Christine Vebert of Roanoke; brothers, Michael A. (Shannon) Hardiek Jr., Marcus S. (Amy) Hardiek and Andrew E. (Andrea) Hardiek, all of Fort Wayne, David (Tammy) Baumgartner of Roanoke, Nicolas E. (Rosa) Hardiek of El Paso, Texas, and Norman "Bud" (Brandy) Hardiek of Fort Wayne; and sister, Christine of New Haven. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, with calling from noon to 1 p.m. Pastor Glen Meyer of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Calling also from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Preferred memorials to the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Chris was such a great guy and always had a smile on his face. Obviously by the amount of submissions on this guest book, he was greatly loved and respected. My heart goes out to his family and friends as I know he will be greatly missed.

Words cannot eliminate the sorrow that the family and good friends of Chris now feel. My hope is that in the coming weeks and months we will remember Chris's big smile that was only exceeded by his caring and warm spirit. Chris was a builder of our Company and for that he will always be remembered by his current Associates and those who will follow. I hope that these simple words will bring some amount of peace to Chris's terrific family.

My heart and prayers are with the family. I've only known Chris for 2.5 years since starting with WF, but his bright smile and positive, laidback attitude was always something I looked forward to. He truly was a special person, and will be deeply missed.

Chris is my nephew, but I felt like he was my son! He was always there for anyone who needed him. He lived for and loved his family. They were his life! You are now our shining star, and when we look up to heaven we will see you shining brightly and know that you are still with us !! We all love you so very much and you will always be in our hearts.
