CONSTANCE "CONNIE" ANITA COLBY, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at home. Born April 22, 1934, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Erwin Peppler and Rudisill Eiffel. Connie graduated Central High School in 1956, attended Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., and then earned her Associate's in Accounting from LaSalle College in Chicago in 1972. Connie had worked at Peter Echrich from 1970 to 1986, was an accountant at Dreibelbiss Title Company for 10 years, retiring in 1996. She also worked part time at Wells Street Hardware and North Anthony Do IT Best until the closing of both locations. In her spare time she enjoyed puzzles, reading, and building and decorating doll houses. She is survived by Neva Aldridge; children, Janel (Jon) Cain, Mark (Anne) Colby, Mike (Jeanine) Colby, and Joni Colby. Connie was blessed with seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service is from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46815), with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. A committal service is from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Highland Park Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46825). Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the Colby family may be shared at
