Daniel Hower Obituary

Daniel L. Hower, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 27, 2026, Dan was born on July 1, 1948, to the late Alfred and Betty Hower. He married Jenean Price and they shared 40 years together before her passing. Dan had a successful 50-year career with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 103. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the American Legion. Dan would spend many weekends dancing and recreating his American Bandstand days. He is survived by his sons, Eric (Tammy) Hower, Bryan (Angie) Hower, grandchildren Bryant (Melissa) Hower, Dayanaira (Justin G.) Hower, step-grandchildren Dustin, Ty, and Jacob Froelich, Austin Holmes and Christina Lehman. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Hower, sister-in-law Gayla (Stephen) McMurray, nieces and nephews, Jenny Karr, Kathy (Jarod) Hahn, Sean McMurray, Nichole (Troy) Plumlee, Mark (Kayeloni) Mason, Natalie (Eric) Wagoner and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Michael.

Services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
