Dave Taylor

Dave Taylor, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on December 26, 2025, he was born on August 28, 1948, in Dekalb County, Indiana, son of the late Vincent Taylor and Joanne (Gerry) Helmsing. Dave was a member of AMVETS #33, VFW 1421, and American Legion Post 241. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle and later his electric bike. Dave enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and taking walks in the conservation area. He is survived by his children, Sarah (Erik) Sheppard and Andrew Taylor; grandchildren, Ava Sheppard, Logan Sheppard, and Sylvester Taylor; significant other, Marilyn McMahon; sister, Pam (Greg) Forbing; and brother, Ron Helmsing. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46809, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am.
