DAVID A. DURNELL

1940 - 2022

DAVID A. DURNELL, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. Born Dec. 14, 1940, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Paul and Harriet Durnell, and retired after 30 years of service from International Harvester. He was also the owner and operator of Durnell's Lawn Enforcement for over 30 years, and was an active member of the Mizpah Shrine, and the Scottish Rite. He is survived by his sons, Danial (Amanda), Michael (Kelly), and Philip (Denise) Durnell; 11 grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife of 59 years, Josephine A. "Jo" (D'Angelo) Durnell; and granddaughter, Kendra Durnell. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, March, 10, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
