Dean Hoffman Obituary

DEAN ALLEN HOFFMAN, 46, of rural Columbia City near Collins, died Wednesday at his home. Born in Columbia City, he was a lifelong resident of Smith Township, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1979. On September 19, 1981 he was married to Karen Pribbernow, and was engaged in farming with Hoffman's Hillcrest Farms, Inc., the family farming operation in both Smith and Union Townships. He was a member of First Church of God in Columbia City, and was active with 4-H all of his life, currently serving as the Whitley County Beef Club leader. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking and craft projects. Surviving is his wife Karen; children Jordan Christopher Dean Hoffman at home, and Michaela Kaydean Ruth Hoffman, at home and a seventh grade student at Churubusco Middle School; his parents Richard L. and Carol (Radke) Hoffman of Columbia City; sisters Rebecca (Tony) Mangas of Mansfield, Ohio, and Colleen (Bryan) Graham of Columbia City; his in-laws Richard and Patti Pribbernow of Fremont; brothers-in-law Kyle Pribbernow of Huntertown and Kent Pribbernow of Fremont; a grandfather-in-law Don L. Arnold of Fort Wayne; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and many, many friend. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Church of God in Columbia City with calling one hour before services. Pastor George Reser, officiating. Calling also 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco. Arrangements by Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco. Memorials to the family for his children. Condolences emailed to [email protected]
