Donald Hall was my Father-In- Law, who I was privileged to know for the past fourteen years.
He was a man for whom I had a great deal of respect, and admiration.
Don always had a way of asking the difficult questions, without interfering, being intrusive, or judgmental.
I always valued his sincere and honest opinion.
I have learned from Don, by example how to be a good Father to your children, especially to a daughter. A priceless gift.
I have been truly blessed to have known him.
Gone is the face we loved so dear,
Silent is the voice we loved to hear.
Too far away for sight or speech,
But not to far for thought to reach.
Sweet to remember him who once was here,
And though now absent,
Is just as dear.

Don was, simply stated, one of the best people I have ever known.
I worked with him for a number of years @ ICON Exhibits. He always had a pleasant word for those he encountered. We will miss him and the chances that he might unexpectedly pop in to say hello...though I know he will pop into our thoughts off and on forever.
In the words of Wm Wordsworth...
"The best portion of a good man's life, his little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love."

It was my pleasure to work with Don for 5 years at Icon and even though I have been long gone, whenever I stopped by to say hi, he always had time for me. We traded many jokes over the years and he was such a good decent man who deserved so much more than what he received in so many ways. Send in the clowns.

My uncle Don was a real charmer and very special to me. He defined charisma. He always had positive words and a joke or two to tell. He always made the time to talk and laugh and had kind things to say about people. I pray I have half the strength and courage he showed the world.

The world has lost a bit of its light. I have lost a man who taught me how to make mine shine bright.
You were there for me when I needed a kind word and protection from harm. You were there for me when I needed a push to find strength and face fears with calm.
I am a better person for having known and worked with you Don. You have left this old world for a much better place.
So I'll ring your bell of success one last time and find the frog to kiss and make it mine.

I will miss Don's wonderful wit and sunny outlook. It was truly my privilege to get to know Don and work with him last year. He will always be remembered.
