DONALD WESTERMAN Obituary

DONALD WESTERMAN, 89, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at The Cedars Retirement Home, Leo. Born May 13, 1928, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late William Carl Wester man and Esther (Adams) Westerman. He graduated from Concordia High School and entered into the United States Army where he honorably served his country during World War II. He married Alexena Deloris Baird on Oct. 23, 1954, in Fort Wayne; she preceded him in death in February of 1999. Don was employed with International Harvester in Fort Wayne for 22 years. Survivors include two sons, Guy (Elena) Westerman of Leo and Todd Westerman of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Vera) Westerman of Tucson, Ariz.; and sister, Mary (Rex) Shuman of Fort Wayne. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Cedar Creek Church, 12606 Leo Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne. It was such an honor to get to know him. Our conversations would always end with me saying "try and behave yourself today" and he would always say "yeah but there's no future in it" he will be truly missed!!!!
