Dorothy Acker Obituary

DOROTHY KAYE ACKER, 68, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, May 5, 2006, 12:05 a.m., at her residence. Born in St. Johns, Mich., she was a registered nurse at Lutheran Hospital. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a volunteer host at Fort Wayne International Airport. Survived by her husband, Dr. Herb Acker; daughters, Erin (Bob) Floyd and Kristin (Craig) Brownell, both of Fort Wayne; sons, Dr. Phillip (Julie) Acker D.D.S. of Millstadt, Ill. and Grant (Lora) Acker of Fort Wayne; brother, Larry Colando of Irvine, Calif.; sister, Beverly Renbarger of Fort Wayne; and 11 grandchildren. Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, 4900 Fairfield Avenue, with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Theodore Taykowski officiating. Calling is also from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Fort Wayne Children's Zoo or Unity Lutheran School.
