DOUG JOHNSON Obituary

DOUG JOHNSON, 60, previously of Fort Wayne, went to be with his Savior, Jesus, on Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, in Tulsa, Okla. Doug worked for many years for his father and uncle as a Sheet Metal Journeyman. Following graduation from Taylor University (2004), Doug worked for the Rescue Mission, serving as Chaplain in 2010-11. The past 10 years he served as one of the ministers at International Gospel Center in Tulsa. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandy Buckles Johnson; along with his parents, Ronald and Shirley Johnson of Johnson City, Tenn.; and three sisters, Tammie (Rob) Hooker of Fort Wayne, Ind., Lisa (Mark) Howe of Wolcottville, Ind., and Teresa (Richard) Ignace of Johnson City, Tenn. He also leaves behind many beloved uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at New Covenant Worship Center, 3420 E Paulding Road, Fort Wayne, Ind., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Donations in memory of Doug can be given to International Gospel Center designated to the children and youth's Thrive Center - at igcenter.org To sign the guestbook visit www.hshfuneralhome.com
