Doug Sherman Obituary

Doug Sherman, 63, of Corinth, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2025, while visiting family members in Fort Wayne. Doug was born on May 28, 1962, in Fort Wayne, a son of Kenneth and Cathern (Springer) Sherman.

Doug was a devoted and well-respected member of the Fleet Pride team, where he worked faithfully for 29 years and was close to his 30th anniversary. He enjoyed quiet pastimes like reading, playing video games, working on jigsaw puzzles, and caring for his prized 2002 Firebird. He was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and Purdue Boilermakers. He treasured time spent visiting family and friends and attending car shows with his brother. He was known for his great sense of humor and the warm hugs. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by five siblings, Dennis (Rose) Sherman, David Sherman, Donald (Joan) Sherman, Carol Wells and Mary (Gary) Stabler; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece Toni Sherman, nephew Dexter Salway and a brother-in-law Ken Wells. In keeping with the wishes of the family, services will be held privately. Anyone wishing to honor Doug's memory may do so by making a donation to the American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.

I have many fond memories of Doug from North Side. He would pick up Doug Housholder and me in the morning and we would listen to Kansas blaring from his car stereo all the way to school. I think of him every time I hear the band Kansas. He was much more than Dust In The Wind. He was a treasure. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
