EILEEN CASTLEMAN Obituary

EILEEN M. CASTLEMAN, 93, a rural New Haven resident since 1977, previously of Monroe-ville, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, 7:30 p.m., at The Village of Heritage, Monroe-ville. Born June 27, 1918, in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Amelia (Mourey) Oberley. She married Ervin D. "Boob" Castleman on Jan. 19, 1939, in St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, he passed away May 30, 2000. She was a member of the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, and a member of their Rosary Society. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. Surviving are her sons, James L. (Marilyn), Edwin J. (Edna) and Joseph E. (Jane) all of Monroeville, David A. of Indianapolis, Kenneth A. (Jean M.) of Monroeville, John J. of Bluffton and Ronald L. (Patricia) of Monroeville; daughter, Carol A. (Edward) Lubomirski of Fort Wayne; 30 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Mary Ann Castleman at birth, in 1939; granddaughter, Michelle Castleman, in 1981; three brothers, Robert, Arnold and Wilbur Oberley; and two sisters, Esther Oberley and Edith Ternet. Prayer service is 9:15 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Ind. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, Ind. Father Stephen Colchin officating. Visitation is from 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the funeral home with Rosary service at 8 p.m. Burial in St. Louis Besancon Cemetery. Memorials to the church for masses, Village of Heritage Activities Fund or Cornerstone Youth Center in Monroeville.
