EILEEN EDWARDS Obituary

EILEEN M. EDWARDS, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at her home. She loved to sew, crochet and knit, making afghans for her family and friends, and her annual hobby of making nylon scrubbers. She was a member of the Fort Wayne Fireman's Women's Auxiliary and was always a willing helper at anytime. She was a former employee of the Wayne Pump Company in the 1940'S, and in later years, the Fort Wayne License Branch from which she retired. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert G. Edwards of Fort Wayne; sons, Herbert H. (Jodi) of Fort Wayne, Jerry (Janice) of Butler and Gordon (Vicki) of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, John (Susie) Stemen of Butler; brothers-in-law, William F. (Virginia) Edwards and Alfred J. Edwards, both of Fort Wayne; sisters-in-law, Margaret Winkler of Fort Wayne and Dorothy Dunham of Kempton, Ind.; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and three step-brothers. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice.
