EMILY M. MICHAEL

EMILY M. MICHAEL, 82, of Huntington, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 8:10 p.m., at Heritage Pointe in Warren. Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Daytona Beach, Fla., she was the daughter of the late William D. and Helen (vonJasmund) Murray. She was a 1946 graduate of Stephens Junior College in Columbia, Mo. She attended DePauw University for three years, where she met the love of her life, John V. Michael, Sr. They married on Aug. 6, 1949 in Lawrenceburg, he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1996. She retired from the Huntington City Township Public Library as a Genealogy Secretary. She was also a Substitute Teacher for the Huntington County Community School Corporation. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and had served on the Administration Board. She was a member of the Monday Club, Sorosis Club, Tri Kappa Sorority and the Book Club. She proudly served as a Hospice volunteer and in the Stephens Ministry of Trinity. Survivors include two sons, John V. (Sharon) Michael, Jr. of Fort Wayne and W. Murray (Kathleen) Michael of Searcy, Ark.; one daughter, Tanner Michael of Panama City, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Dukes Murray in 2005. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street, Huntington with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Steven Ailes and Rev. David Ballinger officiating. Visitation also from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Burial in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
