Eric W. Anthony

Eric W. Anthony, 56, of Ft. Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024, at his home. Eric was born August 16, 1967 in Ft. Wayne to Gordon and Rosalyn (Walsh) Anthony. As an infant Eric battled cancer which led to life long health problems. In 1985 Eric graduated from Paul Harding High School. He then attended Ivy Tech for fire science and public safety, his two passions in life. He also obtained several certifications in both fields throughout his life. He was a volunteer firefighter at New Haven Adams Township for 23 years. He also was a CPR, first aid trainer at Catholic Charities of Ft. Wayne for 14 years. While doing his volunteer work he also worked at IDOC for juveniles and GE. Eric is survived by his mother Rosalyn (Rosie) Anthony, brothers Jason (Shara) Anthony and Aaron Anthony, sisters Mallorie (Austin) Ables, and Emily Purinton, nieces and nephews Jackson, Cooper, Bentlee, Adeline, Karter, Annalise, and Gordon along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Anthony and uncle John L. Walsh.

Funeral mass will be 2pm Monday, March 4, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd. with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 3 to 6pm Sunday March 3, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Inurnment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
