GARY BURKHART Obituary

GARY LEE "SLICK" BURKHART II, 48, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Parkview Hospital - Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Charleston, W. Va., he attended Calvary Baptist Church, Fort Wayne. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to fish. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Rebecca; mother, Phyllis (Carl) Rader of Lizemores, W. Va.; father, Gary (Charlotte) Burkhart of Red House, W. Va.; children, Cody (Bethany) Burkhart of Pinch, W. Va.; Benjamin Boseker of Fort Wayne and Kayla (Shane) Branning of New Haven; sister, Melissa (Joe) Young of Clay, W. Va.; stepsiblings, Matt, Glen, Kevin, and Karen Rader; and seven grandsons. He was also preceded in death by step siblings, Anita Moore and Allen Peters. Funeral service is noon Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church, 7810 St. Joe Center Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation two hours prior. The Rev. Barry Cappleman officiating. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are Parkview Home Health and Hospice or Calvary Baptist Church. Arrangements by Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
