Gary J. Richards

Gary J. Richards, 68, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed peacefully on January 11, 2026, at his home. Gary served in the Army from 1975 – 1979, and two additional years in The National Guard. A hero in life and service, Gary was an inspirational husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a formidable hunter and fisherman with a warrior heart that sacrificed to the very end. His final cast rippled the waters in the hearts of all that knew him. Gary leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Vicky; beloved children, April (Scott) Harris, Candy (Terry) Williams, Gary Jr. (Lauren) Richards, & Nathanual (Anne) Richards; 16 precious grandchildren; 6 wonderful great-grandchildren; and 17 cherished nieces & nephews; Also surviving are his siblings, Ron (Christine) Richards, Rob Richards, Clara (Dwayne) Vinson, & Rosie Mossbarger. Celebration of life is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at New Zion Fellowship Hall, 1505 Tyler St., Fort Wayne, IN 46808 Arrangements by Midwest Funeral Home.
