Glenn Stewart Obituary

Glenn Stewart, 71, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 2, 2026, Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Glenn carried the pride of his hometown with him throughout his life. A proud graduate of South Side High School, Glenn was known for his love of basketball. He played the game with heart and passion, and his love for it never faded. Whether watching a game, talking about it, or reminiscing about his playing days, basketball was always close to him. He also found joy in listening to music and going to concerts, something that brought him peace and comfort throughout the years. Glenn was the beloved son of Thomas Stewart and Odessa Stewart (Starks), both of whom preceded him in death. Their values of strength and generosity were evident in the man he became. Later in life, Glenn faced medical challenges with quiet strength. Through it all, he held firmly to his faith and his belief in God that was taught to him by his mother. He is survived by his only daughter, LaToya (TJ) Young, and his cherished grandchildren, Trinitee Young and Terrence Young, Jr.; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him. Glenn loved children and had a generous spirit. He is known for his kindness, his willingness to give, and the strength of his character. Glenn will be remembered as a strong, giving man who loved his family and stayed true to the things that brought him joy. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Service will be 12 noon on Friday, March 13, 2026 at New Covenant Worship Center, 3420 E. Pauling Road, with calling one hour prior. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.

I met Glen in 1964 moving from Lima, Ohio to Ft. Wayne, where we attended James H. Smart as fifth graders in which he was a classmate with my twin brother Harry to which we all three become classmates in the sixth grade. Moving out of the school district ,we'd still always cross paths which were always cool. Glen and I would become opponents as he played basketball for Southside HS and I for Heritage HS, which would extend with Glen playing at McComb Comm. College and I at Glen Oaks Comm. College both in Michigan . No big news about Glen as he was some BB player named All City while at SS and All Conference at McComb and the last time seeing him, he told me he was going somewhere in Texas to continue his college career and with the way life is, we went our separate ways and upon hearing this late news I am deeply saddened of hearing of his passing and I wish to also mention that Glen was a very nice and good human being. I never saw him at odds with anybody, he was just a very warm person. To the family I wish to offer my deepest condolences and may the good Lord continuously bless each of you one by one with his peace and strength is my prayer, GOD BLESS.

My condolences to TJ, Trinitee and Terrence. Thoughts of Glenn bring a smile to my face. He was always warm and kind to me whenever he visited with his cousin my brother, Fred (Stewart). A bright light in my life.
