HELEN BERTSCH, 99, of Grabill, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at The Cedars, Leo. She had lived at The Cedars since May 11, 1994. She volunteered at Parkview Hospital for many years. For the past 16 years she loved ministering to patients at The Cedars, Leo. She and her husband of 75 years, Herman spent their last years at The Cedars; he preceded her in death. Surviving are her two sons, Lyle of Salem, S.C. and Rodney of Woodbridge, Va.; one daughter, Lou Cannis of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Burial in I.O.O.F. To the Helen Bertsch Family - I visited the Cedars almost weekly and enjoyed your mother. She had a sweet spirit and it was evident that she loved the Lord. My sympathy goes out to you all but can only rejoice with her.
