Henry Bruggeman Obituary

Henry A. Bruggeman, passed away on December 5, 2024, full of peace and free from fear. A lifelong Fort Wayne resident, Hank was born in Paris, France December 27, 1945, to Captain Joseph A. Bruggeman and Marie Celard Bruggeman. He attended Central Catholic High School and was employed in maintenance at The Crozier House and Saint Francis College. He enjoyed good company and great westerns. Although challenged from birth with several disabilities, he always kept a sunny disposition and a determined path. Upon retirement, Hank devoted himself to the care of his parents for over twenty-five years, a generosity his other siblings sorely appreciated and could never repay. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie, and siblings Anthony, Patrick, Joseph, Marie and Ann. He is survived by brothers Jack (Susan) of Boulder, Colorado and Fred (Marcia) Fort Wayne. Nieces and nephews include Nathan, Lindsey, Michael, Ian, Lisa, Sara, Adam, Bridget, Anthony Eric and Yahn, as well as grandnieces and nephews Cassidy, Shane, Estelle, Magnolia, Harper, Charlotte, Olivia, Lily, Wiliam, Bradford and Everly. Extra special thanks to the people who helped him on his journey through the years, you made his life so much better. Services are private. Memorials to Saint Francis College.

I met Henry through his younger sister Ann, my best friend in high school. Only two of the living Bruggeman children remain. The weirdest thing is that I sensed the death of Ann and Patrick on the exact day of their death. I had no connections with Patrick since 1982, but I kept his picture that he gave me to remember him. I found it in an unused canister set on the day he died in 2015.
Henry will be in excellent company.

I didn't know him but I am sorry for what he went through on this earth.

It sounds like my husband who has Lewy Bodies Parkinson's with Dementia and Hallucinations and he always asks me but he doesn't know who I am. So I can understand when you said peace from pain and fear.

He was a mechanic but not for long because he's fighting me about him driving and the stories that he says that I don't know if that really happened or not.
And he's either listening to music or watching Western show and movies.

God bless him and your entire family.

And if he had Parkinson's could you please contact me when you are over the loss of him but I know that it's not going to be over because there is a void now.

With sorrow and in remembrance of Henry, I extend my condolences to family and those close to him. I worked with "Hank" while a student at St. Francis, 1980-84. A kind soul with a wicked sense of humor. Rest In Peace "Buddy", those days have not been forgotten.
