Joseph Anzalone Obituary

Joseph James "Joe" Anzalone, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2025, Born in Chicago, Joe attended Lane Tech and moved the family to Fort Wayne in 1976 as part of a job transfer. He spent his career in sales and, after retiring, found joy working at Grabill Cabinets and in his beloved hobby of woodworking.

A die-hard Chicago Bears fan, Joe also loved good food, big laughs, and spending time at the family cabin on Clearwater Lake, MN. He was especially fond of ice cream-so much so that the family kept a dedicated "ice cream vault".

He married Carolann Anzalone (née Schramm) in 1969 and is survived by her; their children, Deborah Cole of Indianapolis and Christopher Anzalone of Westminster, MA; brothers Lewis Grove (Susan) and David Anzalone of California; cousin Frank Marrano (Eve) of Wheaton, IL; and grandchildren Soap Cole of Portland, OR, and Benjamin Cole of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Martin, grandmother Anna Sluka, and many beloved relatives.

A memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 14 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4916 Trier Rd, Fort Wayne. A luncheon will follow the service in the St. Charles Hession Center. In lieu of flowers, please enjoy an ice cream on Joe-he'd insist.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Hey Butch, Thanks for all of the great memories and good times. You will be greatly missed and thought of a lot for sure. I will never be able to pour a Johnnie Walker Blue without toasting you. You were more like a brother to me rather than a cousin. Love you man...Frankie

Words cannot express how saddened we were to hear of Joe's sudden passing. May the wonderful, shared memories of your life together bring you comfort and peace.

Carol & Family: For over the past 20 + years we have been neighbors, never once did we see Joe without a kind smile on his face. From out working in the yard with you Carol, to walking to the mailbox or even walking his beloved dog, Joe made his love for life very evident. Walking around the pond path in the evenings and not smelling the sweet cigar coming from Joe on the sun porch won´t be the same. As requested, our Families next ice cream treat will be in honor and in memory of Joe. May he rest in Peace. The Hardy Family
