JOSEPH FRANKLIN DIES Jr.

JOSEPH FRANKLIN DIES JR., 85, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at his home in Ossian, Ind. He was born June 19, 1938 in Indiana County, Pa., the son of Joseph F. and Velma G. Dies. He was a U.S. Army veteran and proudly served his country with his final tour in Korea with the Military Police. Joseph was one of the original employees and Plant Manager for Fort Wayne Metals. He was hired by the founder, his father-in-law Ardelle Glaze. He retired after 25 years of dedicated service in 1998. He is survived by his son, Gregory Scott (Rita) Dies of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Kelley S. Dies of Ossian, Ind.; grandchildren, Greg, Jessica, Josey and Chelesa; great-grandson, Montgomery; sisters, Donna (Roger) DeLambo, Judy (Richard) Shueller, both of Akron, Ohio; brother-in-law, Scott (Melissa) Glaze; sisters-in-law, Susan (Greg) Turk, and Karan Glaze. Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mardelle Ruth Dies, May 22, 2023; son, Joseph L. Dies, July 3, 1978; brothers, Bill, Bob, Ronald, and Jerry Dies. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Billow Funeral Home 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with visitation two hours prior. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. There will be a time of sharing memories at 7:30 p.m. by family and friends. Burial immediately following service in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Cuyagoha Falls.
