Josie Williams Obituary

Josie Ann Williams, 26, a loving mother, daughter, and sister passed away on March 2, 2025, in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne on April 16, 1998 to Darren A. Williams and April D. Wills, Josie was a graduate of Homestead High School and Indiana-Purdue University Indianapolis. Above all, Josie was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Jace. Her passion for nurturing and caring for others extended beyond her family, as she was a compassionate patient care tech at Parkview Hospital and a dedicated nursing student. Josie was also a cherished member of Emmanuel Community Church. Josie's warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile could brighten any room, and her heart overflowed with love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, we find comfort in remembering the love she so freely gave. May her spirit continue to shine through the lives she touched, and may she watch over her beloved son, Jace, and her sister, Jackie, as their guardian angel. Josie is survived by her son, Jace Morehouse, age 5; father, Darren (Jeannine) Williams; mother, April (Glen) Wills; sister, Jackie Williams; maternal grandfather, Bobby Jackson; and paternal grandmother, Connie Williams, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends who loved her like family. She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Cheryl Jackson; and paternal grandfather, Robert Williams. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Fort Wayne, IN 46825. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at The Branch at Emmanuel Community Church, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46814, with calling one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a fund established for Josie's son, Jace, to help support his future education. Contributions can be made directly to the family. Your generosity, support, and prayers during this difficult time are greatly appreciated. Dear Darren, April and Jackie,
We are so sorry to hear about Josie's passing. She was such a beautiful kind girl. We will always remember her beautiful smile, bubbly personality and contagious laugh. We have so many fond memories of Josie and Kate playing soccer together and going back and forth between our neighborhoods when they were younger. Sorry I can't be there. I was planning on coming to the funeral. I went to the doctor today and found out I have influenza. But I am so sorry for your loss. I really miss you. I know what it's like to lose a child. David wasn't as young but it's still very painful. Just know that I love you and that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Aunt Vickie
