Judy Lopez Obituary

Judy Maria (Rongos) Lopez, 65, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on July 9, 2024, . Judy was born on October 29, 1958 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to George and Nadiza Jeane Rongos. Jeane passed away when Judy was five years old. Her father George remarried, and while Judy always cherished the memories of her mother Jeane, she was blessed to be raised by her mother Eleni Rongos.

Judy was a social person and enjoyed making friends with everyone she met. Throughout the years, she worked at Lincoln Life, ran Village Bakery, and worked for Delta Airlines. In all of her work, the most important thing was getting to know people from all walks of life. She had a lively personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Judy loved to travel, and she especially loved the beach. She was happiest when she was enjoying a sunny day by the water.

Judy had a deep passion for animals. She adored her cats and had a tender heart for the many creatures that often found their way to her doorstep.

Family was the most important thing to Judy. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, and sister. But her greatest joy was being a Yiayia to her 3 grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Victor; three children, George (Stacy) Raptis, Jeannie (Jarred) Sherbino, and Leticia Lopez; grandchildren Spyros, Lia, and Yiani Raptis; mother Eleni Rongos; and brothers Mike, Jimmy, Chris (Kathy), and Jerry (Jamie) Rongos.

A funeral service for Judy will take place on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. 110 E. Wallen Rd. at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place on Monday from 2:00-4:00pm and 5:00-8:00pm with Trisagion prayers at 7:00pm also at the church. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

My heart is sadden of the loss of a great friend who we shared many great times together and shared many life experiences together.Judy always had my back, and was always there when I needed her .We always had deep conversations and laughed when we were together. She always made sure no one messed with me . We always dressed up alike when we went out on the town and danced our butts off . I will always remember those great times together. Love you forevermore my sweet friend . Now you can rest in peace and be pain free my dearest. My thoughts and Prayers go out to Victor and rest of family . Love you all .
