Karen McMeekin Obituary

KAREN LOUISE McMEEKIN, 54, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at her home. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a Property Manager for Gene Glick Corp. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Ivy Tech Alumni, PHI Theta Kappa Sorority, Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude Catholic Church. Survivors include husband, Dennis L. McMeekin of Fort Wayne; son, Jeffrey M. (Ginny R.) McMeekin of Fort Wayne; daughters, Amy S. (Keith) Moses, Jeni L. (John) Gatton and Jessica L. (John) Hilkey, all of Fort Wayne; brother, James E. Shovlin of Fort Wayne; sister, Colleen Clauser of Fort Wayne; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, John W. and Mary L. (Greven) Shovlin. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, E. State and Randallia Dr., with calling one hour prior. Fr. Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to the family.

I remember her from when I lived in Carriage House Apartments when I was a kid. She was a pleasant lady who helped us feel at home. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. May God comfort her family and friends with warm memories of her.
