KATHLEEN E. "KATHY" CATER, 48, died on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Maclyn and Helen MacKay. Kathy was a devoted homemaker and dedicated to her family. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arcola. Surviving are her husband, Gary Cater; children, Erin, Matthew, Megan, Amy, and Jack Cater; and siblings, Janet (Michael) Galbraith and John MacKay. She was preceded in death by a brother, Maclyn MacKay. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Road, with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to NF Clinic-University of Chicago, Dept. of Pediatrics, 5841 S. Maryland Ave. MC 3055, Chicago, IL 60637.
