LARRY TERNET Obituary

LARRY R. TERNET, 73, of Monroeville, died on Monday, March 3, 2014, 12:51 p.m., at his residence. Born March 12, 1940, in Monroe ville, he was a son of the late Robert W. Ternet and LaVerne M. (Reuille) Ternet. Larry served his country in the United States Air Guard in France during the Berlin Crisis. He married Jean D. Wass on Jan. 12, 1963, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville; she survives in Monroeville. Larry was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church Besancon, New Haven; the Fort Wayne Corvette Club; Tractor Pullers Association, and Cockshutt Club. He was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1958. He enjoyed Corvettes, restoring antique tractors, pulling tractors and collecting toy tractors. Larry retired in 1995 from Navistar after 25 1/2 years of service. He also had worked for the Paul Wilson farms for 20 years and was a lifetime farmer. Also surviving are his daughter, Jeanette M. (Mark) Figert of Oakwood, Ohio; sons, Randall E. Ternet of Louisville, Ky. and Robert E. (Kim) Ternet of New Haven; daughter, Janeece M. (Paul Swander) Friesner of Van Wert, Ohio; son, Richard E. Ternet of Orange County, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, Justin and Melissa Figert, Landon, Jeremy and Garret Ternet, Ashlynn, Ezra Friesner. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Visitation also from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Ind., with a Rosary service at 2:30 p.m. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery-Besancon, New Haven.
