LEONARD LEWIS SNYDER JR., 87, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 2, 2023, from natural causes at Lutheran Life Villages. Len was the son of the late Leonard L. Snyder Sr. and Agnes "Billie" Grittinger Snyder. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. on March 3, 1936. Len enjoyed the support of a loving family in all of his endeavors; he shared more than 54 years with his wife, Beulah, who preceded him in death in 2015. The couple saw their family grow to include four children, Mark Snyder (Galen Koch) of Boulder Colo., Stephen and Tom Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Anne (David) Schneider of Seymour, Ind. He also has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Len is also survived by his sister-in-law, Roberta "Bobbi" Snyder of Dallas, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Dick" Snyder. He served in the National Guard, worked in his father's store, Anthony Wayne Village Hardware, and continued his hardware career as a territory manager for the Hillman Group until he retired. He was a long-time member of the McMillen Park Lions Club and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed eating out, attending the Tin Caps, Fury, and Purdue Fort Wayne sporting events. He loved taking the grandchildren to the zoo and other outings. A funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 6723 South Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne (IN 46816), with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Concordia Gardens Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Lutheran Life Villages.
