Linda Edwards Obituary

Linda Kay Edwards, 65, of Spencerville, Indiana, passed away on August 30, 2023. She was born on June 17, 1958, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late Carl and Kay Klenke. Linda was a kind, loving, and gentle soul with an infectious laugh. She was always the sweetest one in the room and radiated love wherever she went. Linda attended Village Woods Elementary for her primary education, followed by Harding High School. She furthered her education at Indiana University. Throughout her career, Linda worked as a waitress at Chi-Chi's and as a teacher at Calvary Christian School, North Side High School, and Snider High School. Linda worshiped at Calvary Christian Church and Broadway Christian Church in Fort Wayne, where she found solace and strength in her faith. In her free time, Linda enjoyed daily Bible studies, crafts, golfing, traveling, photography, gardening, and collecting Vera Bradley purses. She was a beloved teacher, and her passion for science touched the lives of many. Her colleagues and friends remember her as a kind and caring soul, a faithful servant of Christ, and a joy to be around. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Edwards; her loving son, Justin (Kristi) Edwards; her cherished daughter, Sara (Michael) Martin; and her adored grandchildren, Josh, Jesse, Emma, Jake, Avery, Keegan, Layla, Matthew, Rachel, and Sarah. Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished through the ages, and her light will continue to shine upon us.

A funeral service to honor Linda's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, located at 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. A reception to follow the service.

So heartbreaking, what a beautiful spirit. I had the special honor of "Klink" becoming a dear friend at Village Woods Elementary (7th grade) and standing beside me as my Maid-of-honor 44 years ago. While the tears are shed today, just think how Heaven is dancing with such a beautiful soul. May her family and friends know she is certainly loved dearly on this worldly Earth, and we can look forward to dancing in Heaven with her...
