LORENZ "COONY" STEMMLER

LORENZ "COONY" STEMMLER, 87, of New Haven, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Conrad and Eleanora (Zink) Stemmler. The veteran proudly served his country during the Korean War. Lorenz was a mail carrier and then started working at the Stemmler Shell gas station in New Haven, where he later took over the family business. He retired from the City of New Haven Utilities Department after 15 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven and the American Legion Post 330. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann (Bosselman) Stemmler; sons, Larry (Dianna) Stemmler of New Haven and Rick (Christina) Stemmler of Fort Wayne; sisters, Eleda Barille of Waterloo and Rose Sweet of New Haven; grandchildren, Camrynn and Penn Stemmler. He was preceded in death by two brothers; and six sisters. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. The Rev. David O. Stecker officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
